Fall Fashion 2011

Ok yall - you know I'm random...but

Fall Fashion is in.... :-)

It has been fashion week in New York and will continue in London, Milan and Paris.  The great thing about this years trends is that you most likely have these items in your closet!!!! Here we go :-)

1. Blazers, Coats, and Vests
Some of fall’s prettiest sweaters, puffer jackets and blazers come with whittled-in-at-the-waist silhouettes—which means you can flaunt your ladylike silhouette even if you’re wearing lots of layers

peplum coats

2. Mustard Hues
Now granted, this is wearable for only the small percentage of people who look good in the hue. But if you were blessed with the right complexion, you will positively glow this fall in the brilliant goldenrod pieces.

3. Polka Dots
If the head-to-toe patterned look isn’t your thing, try a polka-dot blouse or scarf to put a playful—and trendy!—spin on your everyday outfit

4. Rust Color Coats
For fall 2011 the hue is turned down a notch verses last years camel, its a darker, more fall-like and way more universally flattering color of rust.

5. Camo - Inspired
There were a lot of prints and patterns that filled the fall 2011 runways this season (plaids! art nouveau swirls! polka dots!), including a few camouflage-inspired styles.

6. Maxi - Skirts and Cozy Sweaters
While it can be tough to work up enough style energy to wear anything other than jeans or leggings on Saturdays and Sundays, the low-key and ueber-comfy outfit idea many designers sent down the runway is something worth trying. After all, who knows? The maxiskirt and sweater combo could become your new weekend uniform. You can also wear this style with a maxi-dress (from your summer rotation, with a belt if you like) ~ nothing wrong with synching your waist ;-)

7. A Touch of Lace
It’s no big news that lace is sexy. But this fall it becomes polished, too—which means you’ve got a stellar new answer to the classic work-then-out weekday outfit.  Dress up your entire outfit with a touch of lace in your hair or around your waist; make it work for you!

8. Choker Necklaces
YEP they are BACK!!!! Track one down and use it as your go to; just like a Little Black Dress (LBD) ;-)

9. Granny Plaids
It was kinda out 2 seasons ago....but its back AGAIN!! A lot of designers were presenting items that were head to toe plaid; may I suggest that you were ONE at a time!!! But rocking Granny Plaid is IN this fall!!!

10. The Working Girl Dress
Give your go-to black pants a well-deserved rest as there’s a pretty new office uniform, ready to roll. (MINE will STAY in rotation, lol) More designers turned out ’70s-inspired day dresses—translation: midlength skirts with long, blousy sleeves.  You can achieve this  look with a blouse and a skirt.

11. Jade Green Dress
The bold green dress is gonna be your go-to party outfit this season. (Not to mention a great way to stand out in a sea of LBDs! oooowwwwwww)

12. Bright Pants
Yep...they are back up in this thang...hahahaha....This is an easy way to make winter’s dark layers look fresh and fun.

Music Review - Beyonce

Hey guys!!!

I pray that your weekend was awesome, I know mine was!!!

Over this holiday weekend I was able to complete an interview and get the honest opinion of someone's view of Beyonce's new CD "4".  This was a Question and Answer interview.  This reviewer did not purchase the deluxe CD and does not consider themselves a die hard Beyonce fan.  Some of you may not agree with this review, some may - please remember this is just one persons opinion, enjoy!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Me:  How would you rate this CD on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest)

Answer:  8

Me:  Why would you rate the CD an 8

Answer:  I like the CD but its not perfect; I don’t like every single song; and the songs seem to be short in length.

Me:  What are your favorite songs on this CD?

Answer: Party and Countdown

Me:  Does the CD have more ballads or up-temo songs?

Answer:  more ballads

Me:  Because this CD contains more ballads did it sway your rating?

Answer:  It probably does because I’m not in that mindset right now so I’d rather hear more uptempo songs.  You can tell by the nature of her songs that she is in love.

Me:  Do you have a favorite Beyonce CD?

Answer:  Yes, Dangerously In Love

Me:  Some say that this CD appears rushed or not mainstream what is your opinion?

Answer:  I don't agree with that; I feel that the last CD could appear “rushed” but not this one

The reviewer and I listened to each song and the reviewer gave their assessment.  The assessment of each song was rated on star levels ranging from 1 to 5; and explanation of what the reviewer liked/disliked about each song:

Song:  Best Thing I Never I Had
Star Rating:  (4)
What do you like about the song:  I like the harmonies and concept of this song.
What do you dislike about the song:  The song is identifiable but it didn’t emotionally move me

Song:  Love on Top
Star Rating:  (4.5)
What do you like about the song:  The song is fun
What do you dislike about the song:  I really like the song the major dislike is the fact that I can’t hit all the notes <--------- seriously (LOL)

Song:  Countdown
Star Rating:  (5)
What do you like about the song:  The song is fun, my favorite lyrical favorite portion of the song is "grind up on him girl show him how you ride it"; and of course the shout out to Houston
What do you dislike about the song:  Nothing I love everything.

Song:  End of Time
Star Rating:  (4)
What do you like about the song:  I LOVE THE BEAT
What do you dislike about the song:  At a certain point I lose the lyrics because I’m focused on the beat

Song:  I Was Here
Star Rating:  (0)
What do you like about the song:  Nothing
What do you dislike about the song:  The song sounds depressing

Song:  Run the World
Star Rating:  (4)
What do you like about the song:  Its a fun song to dance to and a great work out, and LOVE the shout out to Houston
What do you dislike about the song:  I'm honestly really tired of girl anthems, and she is seriously at one point she is screaming!!

Well there you have! The true fans have spoken and regardless love everything that Queen B has to offer.  And based on this review it seems like Beyonce pretty much has another HOT one on her hands! Can't wait to see her live!

Hope you enjoyed this review as much as I enjoyed writing it! :-)

Houston Stallions

So on yesterday my son and I got the opportunity to attend an Indoor Football game (Houston Stallions) www.gohoustonstallions.com

It was interesting to say the least; its not "arena football" its "indoor". Now some of my friends are HUGE football fans, but Ms. Sherri (that's who we were with at this football game), is still learning the game.....LOL

First off the field is ummm how should I say this "small" its literally the length of a basketball court. I know you're wondering how I know but that's because it was in a basketball stadium in Katy! LOL

The fans (Yes there were fans) and they were EXCITED! I decided to get into the game, its much different, the kicker kept kicking the ball into the stands...sigh....sir the ball should not be making a curve, dude there is no WIND IN HERE....lol.  The hail Mary passes were ummm short....no OMG moments there...hahaha

Well this was a "playoff game" and they lost, but it was an interesting time.....hey football fans this may be our future if this lockout doesn't come together!!! LOL

As you can tell I love my sports....All in all it was cool for the kiddo and I to get out, I don't know if I would return often and wear a Houston Stallions tee, but it was a neat experience none the less.  Sometimes its just cool to get out an experience something new :-)!

The Nerve

So you have the nerve to become angry because no one wants to help you...
Think about it, when is the last time you lifted a finger to help someone out and was not expecting something in return?

So you really have the nerve to be angry about someone talking about you...
And you can't open your mouth without talking down about the next person and you don't have your ducks in a row (you are sweeping around some swept doors).

So you have the nerve to expect greatness...
But you are not exhausting all possibilities to get to the next level.

So you have the nerve to want people to respect you...
But you show blatant disrespect to almost every person that you come in contact with that does not share your same ideas.

So how do we fix this?

Have the nerve to dare to be different...
Lend a helping hand, be there just as a listening ear, don't run away from situations that may seem uncomfortable or difficult.

Have the nerve to button your lips...
Sometimes its best to close your mouth and listen, most times you will learn more about a person when you allow them to do more talking.

Have the nerve to move to the next level...
You're moving to the next level by exhausting all possibilities, putting your goals down (writing your vision down), where do you see yourself in 5 years and look at what steps you need to take to get there.

Have the nerve to be respected...
You don't have to make someone respect you, when you respect yourself others will respect you as a person, and everything that you stand for.

Your life is now transformed from a downward spiral to an upward motion, don't let grass grow under your feet, keep moving until you reach your goals that you have for your life! Don't let people or failed attempts at success reduce your faith level. Remain focused on making your life Divine in 2009!!!

"just my thoughts"

Hurting hearts can be healed with time,

Loneliness can be repaired through true connection,

Peace is given but often not received, due to more concern with the feeling rather than moving forward and not dwelling on the past

Trust is sometimes easily given but difficult to restore after broken.

A plan that does not come to pass is not destroyed by those around them but by the originator that has given up on their original plan.

By "exhausting all possibilities" as one of my friends says, we have to put away all the excuses that keep us from reaching our goals.

Don't let a day go by that you are not moving toward your desires one step at a time, you don't have to consume the entire pie on the first bite but at least work towards it. You can do ALL THINGS through Christ...but you have to believe in YOU... ;-)

"When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everybody will respect you" ~ Lao-Tzu

Can We Live Without Facebook/Myspace?

LOL, Funny question huh? I remember before I joined either site I was concerned about the website and what was actually going on. After a little coaching from one of my friends I decided to jump in and try it. I met some cool "cyber friends" found some friends from way back when! Now that was myspace...Facebook is another beast!

Who knew that Facebook would have you checking the durn site RIGHT after you log off the computer from your phone, or randomly during the day just to ensure you haven't received any messages, or changing your status a zillion times, LOL. The site is entertaining to me; and its one of my daily things along with checking my emails and such.

My question for you all is if the websites were abolished would you be ok? I can hear some of you saying what would I do with all my extra time, lol.

Hit me up and let me know your thoughts you can post it here or you can hit me up at kimwilliams.blogspot@gmail.com

Cant wait to hear from you!!

Kim
